Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me bring the love,

Where there is offense, let me bring the pardon,

Where there is discord, let me bring the union,

Where there is doubt, let me bring the faith,

Where there is mistake, let me bring the truth,

Where there is despair, let me bring the hope,

Where there is sadness, let me bring the happiness,

Where there is darkness, let me bring the light

Oh Lord!

Grant that I may seek rather

To console than to be consoled,

To understand than to be understood,

To love than to be loved,

Because it is in giving that we receive,

It is in forgiving that we are forgiven,

And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
